I say, the Royal Mail is saluting the Beatles in January by releasing six commemorative stamps illustrated with memorable album covers.
The set includes "With the Beatles," released in 1963, which was the group's second album. In the United States, it was the first Beatles album to be released and was retitled "Meet the Beatles." What was their first album released in Great Britain? See below.
Others in the series include "Help!" (1965), "Revolver" (1966), "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" (1967), "Abbey Road" (1969) and "Let It Be" (1970).
What? No WHITE Album?

So, the Beatles first album was Please, Please Me, and postally speaking, produced this hit:
P.S. I Love You
(Lennon/McCartney)
As I write this letter
Send my love to you
Remember that I'll always
Be in love with you
Treasure these few words
Till we're together
Keep all my love forever
P.S. I love you
You you you
I'll be comin' home again
To you love
Until the day I do love
P.S. I love you
You you you
As I write this letter
Send my love to you
Remember that I'll always
Be in love with you
Treasure these few words
Till we're together
Keep all my love forever
P.S. I love you
You you you
As I write this letter
Send my love to you
Remember that I'll always
Be in love with you
I'll be comin' home again
To you love
Until the day I do love
P.S. I love you
You you you
You you you
I love you
Could anyone besides Lennon and McCartney get away with saying "You you you you you you" when they couldn't come up with a lyric?
Is it possible to be Beatled out?
ReplyDeleteHey Kimmy-
ReplyDeletefound your site from Bean's. You might be my "go to" when he retires his blog at the end of the year. Similar content w/out the sports stuff...good call. I think that the only other person who could get away w/"you,you,you" lyrics would be Bono. I'll be checking back...
