FOOTBALL WITHDRAWAL

I can feel it closing in already. Just knowing that there are only 3 more NFL games in the season! ARRRGH!

And how did a Manning get into a conference championship....and it's NOT Peyton! So the Titans are out and the Colts are out. The Patriots take on the San Diego for the AFC Championship and Green Bay takes on the Giants for the NFC Title. I think I have that right. I mean, I love watching football with my whole family on Sundays but I'm not fanatical. So now, I'm not sure who to route for. I did live part of my life in New York and some in New England so I suppose my loyalties should lie there, but on the other hand I really like the Packers because Brett Favre is really amazing. I can't see routing for the Chargers, although former Titan Billy Volek is a good guy, but he is only their back-up quarterback, so sorry Billy.

The fact is that it is so great to have all the kids over to watch football every Sunday. It's really the only time we are all together as a family outside of holidays and birthdays and such. So I will miss that until August when pre-season starts again.

On the other hand, this HAS to be a good thing for my diet, as every NFL game lends itself to pizza, wings, chips, cookies, barbecue, or some combination of all of the above.

So, bye-bye pigskins and potato skins...hello salads and sunday school!
