Can You Be Bought?

Seriously, do politicians think that a television
commercial will make me vote for them?
Seriously.

If any of the candidates are going to spend 2.7 million dollars on a 30 second ad during the Superbowl, it better be mind-bogglingly clever and/or really significant to me personally. Here's one I might have enjoyed:

Candidate X is on the screen and says, "Superbowl Ads cost 2.7 million dollars. My financial team put aside enough money to run 4 ads. But I'm just appearing this one time. The other 8.1 million dollars is being donated to (charity.) To me, that seems like a better use of the money. Meanwhile, I am enjoying the Superbowl just like you... Of course next year, I sure would like to be watching it from the White House.... Thanks for your vote."

  1. I'm pretty much tired of the presidential election hoopla.

This would have been a good add.

  2. I like your idea for a good ad. At least we weren't bombarded with negative ads during the Super Bowl game, though. Those just completely make me want to turn off the tv.
