It certainly was a tough political campaign, and regardless of who we voted for, we have a new President today. As Americans, he is OUR President. Just as George W. Bush, Bill Clinton and all those those who came before them. Every inauguration is historic by definition and for me, this one was just as touching and uplifting as many in the past. There's something about a fresh start, even in dire economic times, that gives us the sense of hope.
So today, I send up a prayer that all of our country's leaders will lead with courage and compassion.
